The B25 is widely regarded as the king of superposed shotguns and its hand engraved side-plates are often thought of as its crowning glory.There are four grades of enhancements for the B25, of which the Contre-Platine is the best there is. It is the only grade that includes side-plates as an option. The engraving is superb, and shown here is a small sample of the wide choice available. The wood is of the highest quality, while the checkering is lavishly intricate and generously applied. Teardrops have the effect of visually elongating the side-plated action and streamlining the overall profile of the gun. The 3-piece fore end is another example of the stockerÆs art. Two plates of wood are seamlessly fitted to the barrels and held in position by three screws passing through the side ribs, with the ejector system fitted inside. Only the bottom piece moves in order to disassemble the barrels. All Contre-Platine B25s are delivered with a finely tooled leather case.
